Work From Home As A Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant is a work at home professional that strategically manage multiple administrative projects and tasks from their home office.  They can specialize in a particular industry such as Social Media Marketing or provide a wide variety of executive administrative support services to various clients.  This a very lucrative career that can provide a long-term financial income stream.

When desiring a career as a Virtual Assistant, one should take into consideration several main points:

    • Area of Expertise – NEVER set up a business entity with the sole reliance of someone to work in an area that you are not familiar with.  Before you start hiring people, develop your own business process and work your business yourself. Be real and upfront with clients and let them know what you can and can not do. Never work outside your skill set.
    • Services / Pricing – Never take on jobs and projects in which you do not have the skills to do yourself and don’t cut yourself short on pricing.  A basic way to figure pricing is to check out your competitors.  When comparing prices, keep in mind that VAs with high end clients tend to offer services at a higher rate.
    • Availability – Figuring your availability is going to be a very important aspect of your business. Be very careful not to have a strict schedule as it can really work against you. Try to shoot for a flexible schedule but of course, never stretch yourself too thin.
