Know Your Rights As A Telecommuter
I do not consider myself Legal Advisors but I do knowledge as to the rights of telecommuters. Additionally, I know when employers and business owners are crossing the line when it comes to hiring contractors for jobs.
When working from home, its very important to understand your rights. Ignorance in this area can tremendously increase your chances of being scammed and/or misled to participate in illegal activities.
Learning the legalities of working from home is not something that you will learn as your work within the industry; it is something that you will have to seek out and research for yourself. Finding information is not hard and there are several online resources (like me!) to provide you with important facts about telecommuting.
Additionally, its important to learn when and what authorities to contact in the event that you come across an illegal offer, is tricked into participating in illegal activity and/or money has been removed from your account without authorization.
In this section I don’t just focus on what people and business can and can’t do; I also talk about other legal areas such as taxes and business licenses. I also provide members with all of the details concerning working as an Independent Contractor verses a employee. These areas are especially important because it affects every area of your career including, compensation, taxation, etc.
