Freelancers Are Pure Geniuses

When you think of the word “freelance”, what typically comes to mind?  Yep, you said it, writing. What most people don’t know is that freelancing can be anything; graphic or web design, basket making or even transcription.  It can be absolutely anything!

Freelancing is quite simple.  You take your talent, market it, get customers, earn money.  That’s its – and really, its that easy.

Lately there have been a lot of confusion as to whether a freelancer should be considered as a “business entity” or not.  While we don’t have enough time to get into the technicalities of that issue, we can tell you that it can be either way depending on how your market/sell your services.

So what is a freelancer?  They’re work at home, self-employed professionals who are free to provide their services to anyone, at anytime, at any rate.  They control their productivity, income potential and clientele – and best of all, they work when they want and how much they want.  Freelancers also manage projects and have sole authority over what jobs they want to tackle.

Depending on the type of services they offer, some offer contracts to their clients, while on some projects their clients offer them contracts.  Payment for freelancers vary and is usually agreed upon within the contract made between the freelancer and client.

The one major drawback when working as a freelancer is the uncertain income.  As with any self-employed contractor, work is sometimes scarce and there are times when workload is heavy. Freelancing is very lucrative and can be a promising career for those who are very organized and self motivated.  View my articles >>
